Facial Exercises

Exercise programs and fitness clubs concentrate on toning up your legs, abdomen, buttocks, backs, and arms; but what about your face? Many people believe that facial exercises will cause wrinkles, but this is definitely not true. Facial exercises will help to support the underlying structure of your face, and can keep your face looking young. Facial exercises can also improve the look of sagging and drooping skin on aging faces. The following exercises for your face should be performed at least once a day; best of all, these exercises are free and easy to do at home.

Exercises for Your Checks and Lips

Keep your lips closed and blow air into your checks until they puff out. Move the air inside your mouth from cheek to cheek. Then move the air into the space between your teeth and your upper lip, and then the space between your teeth and your lower lip. Try to stretch your checks and lips out with the air for as long as possible, and repeat and least 5 times a day. When this exercise is done properly you will feel a tingly feeling in your checks after you are done.


 



Another helpful facial exercise for your checks and lips involves scrunching up the lower half of your face as tight as it will go, and then releasing the tension. Squeeze your lips together in a tight kiss form, and then try to squish your lips up towards your nose. Hold the position for 5 seconds. Then relax your face and open your mouth wide open, as far as it will go, and stretch your tongue way out. Repeat this exercise at least 5 times a day.

Exercise for Your Forehead

These forehead exercises can actually help you to learn how to relax the muscles in your forehead, and will help to prevent creases in your forehead from forming.

Squeeze your eyes shut as tightly as you can, while your eyes are shut squeeze your eyebrows together and down and then move your nose upward towards your eyes. Hold this position for at least 5 seconds. Then open your eyes wide, as wide as you can, while raising your eyebrows as far up as they will go. Hold this position for at least 5 seconds and then completely relax your entire face. Repeat this exercise at least 10 times a day.

At least 10 times a day raise your eyebrows up as far as they will go, hold them up high for at least 5 seconds and then completely relax your facial features.
